Research of an effective system for detection and identification of avifauna in wind farms that deploys deterrence or emergency shutdown strategies to prevent bird mortality due to collisions.
Objectives: Design of a hardware and software infrastructure for bird detection, identification and trajectory calculation, as well as deterrence and collision-mitigation systems.
Outcomes: Prototyping and validation of the new identification and deterrence system.
