VirtualAero
VirtualAero encompasses the development of a virtual reality platform for the training of personnel focused on improving the management of wind farms through the rendering of these facilities, thus enabling intelligent interaction with the work environment.
The platform will allow training scenarios to be simulated by generating missions, maintenance, installations, emergency situations and new techniques. In order to achieve a greater sense of immersion in the experience, the platform will automatically manage the ingestion of wind turbine data, as well as user interaction through the use of haptic technology, wearables and 3D audio, being able to recreate environments with great realism.
An artificial intelligence engine will analyse the data from the simulations, evaluating the experience of the workers and identifying behavioural patterns with the intention of correcting undesired behaviour.
The VirtualAero project has received a favourable resolution from the Public Business Entity RED.ES of the 2020 call for aid on technological development based on artificial intelligence and other digital enabling technologies (C007/20-ED) in the framework of the strategic action of digital economy and society of the state R&D&I programme aimed at the challenges of society and the State Programme for Business Leadership in R&D&I, with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
